Where CNY Solar came from

Justin Williams is the owner of CNY Solar, Inc, founded in 2009.    He has taught solar energy, PV, and installation courses at the JATC for Local IBEW 43.  The company has increased from one employee in 2009 to having over 20 employees by the end of 2015.  From 2009 to the end of 2015, CNY Solar has installed well over 550 solar systems in Central New York.  System installers are among the best in the industry and members of Local IBEW 43, meaning that they have classroom electrical experience as well as having trained in the field prior to beginning their roles as solar installers.  Customers benefit from the peace of mind of knowing that the installers are knowledgeable electricians and well versed in National Electrical Code (NEC).

CNY Solar's Vision
The year 2015 came with a lot of successes in the solar industry. Community solar has been approved!  This means that even if a home is on a shaded site they are still eligible to participate in the solar boom!  Contact us to find out more!
It's official! The Federal government voted to extend the 30% solar investment tax credit (ITC):
30% through 2019
26% in 2020
22% in 2021
NYSERDA has released a LMI (Low-to-Moderate Income) incentive, which doubles the incentive amount a household may be eligible for. Let us know if you are interested in finding out if you qualify for this.
What does all this mean?  Our business is expanding!  We  relocated to a larger facility in 2016. We now have a showroom for customers to come in and view a photo gallery of past installations and to view system components.
